Velma P. Fishel

Velma P. Fishel, 77, of Coalgate, died September 2, 1989, at Valley View Hospital in Ada, OK.

A housewife, and mother, she was the daughter of Felix and Jimmie BRADLEY Wheeler, born November 26, 1911 in Coalgate. She married Lawrence Lavern Fishel, September 19, 1932 in Coalgate. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1983.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coalgate, the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Lamel Study Club, and was a past grand chaplin of Eastern Star and a past Mother Advisor of the order of Rainbow.

Survivors: two daughters: Lillie Stutte of Fayetteville, AR, and Jeannie Prather of Ada; one son, David W. Fishel of Fresno, CA; one sister, Lillie Locke of Long Beach, CA; one brother, Jimmie D. Wheeler of McAlester; 10 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services at the First Baptist Church, were under the direction of Epperson Funeral Home in Coalgate. Interment was in the Coalgate Cemetery.
