Mrs. Sam Housley
Ruth Cunningham Housley
Coalgate Courier, July 1, 1915.

Mrs. Sam Housley dropped dead of heart failure at her home
in Cottonwood last Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Housley have resided
at Cottonwood for some time and have made many friends there who
were shocked to hear of the sudden death of Mrs. Housley.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in

The many friends of Mr. Housley deeply sympathize
in his sad hour and great loss.

A note from Karen:
The Coalgate Courier has the obit on my grandfather's first wife. It is dated July 1, 1915.
What I do have is the funeral records for two deaths that occurred within a week of each other.
It appears he prepared the day she died. The purchase for the hearse, coffin
and dress was on the 25th of June. I am sure she passed on the 25, June, 1915 and buried
June 27, 1915. The obit was published on Thursday, July 1, 1915.

The following Thursday, July 7, Sam Housley's son dies. Sam was my Grandfather.
The remaining children went to live with family members.
