J. M. Powers Buried Here Tuesday

J. M. Powers, aged 63 years, 8 months, and six days, passed away at his
home in Oklahoma City Sunday after an illness of about six months duration.

Mr. Powers was a former resident of Coalgate for many years up until about six years ago when he removed to OKC to make his home.

His remains were brought to Coalgate for burial and funeral services were held at the Methodist church here at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon by Rev. A. H. Ogle.
He was born in Independence, Miss; May 28, 1870
Surviving are his wife and three children;
Mrs. Sam Fitzgerald; Mrs. Coreene West and George Powers.
Interment was in Coalgate cemetery.
